Agent credits — how they work

No tokens, no dollars, no complexity. A percentage gauge that resets on the 1st of each month. You always know where you stand.

The principle#

Every agent action (analysis, recommendation, email draft, data scan) consumes a fraction of the monthly quota included in your plan. Instead of exposing you to incomprehensible token mechanics, UpBoard shows a percentage consumption gauge:

Stays simple: you know whether you are at 30% or 80%, and the quota auto-renews on the 1st of each month.

Why a percentage and not euros#

Three reasons:

  • Operational transparency: knowing your usage rate is what matters day to day. The euro cost is on your monthly invoice, fixed and predictable.
  • Pricing stability: our LLM costs may move (down or up). In percentages your quota does not change with those swings.
  • Anti-overage: usage-based dollar models create anxiety and bad surprises. Flat fees protect you.

Budgets per plan#

All plans give you access to the 5 agents (Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Helpdesk, Data Quality). Only the monthly AI credit budget changes — sized to cover normal usage for a company of the plan's target size.

You always see a percentage gauge in the app, never a euro counter or a token count — the practices described above are what make this predictable.

Based on our demo and internal sample: less than 5% of customers reach 90% of their monthly budget in normal usage. If you do hit it regularly, it is probably a signal to step up to the next plan (your activity is denser than the segment average).

What happens if you exceed#

Notifications at multiple thresholds:

  • 80% consumption: alert email with best-practice reminders
  • 95% consumption: email + in-app banner, options offered
  • 100%: agents continue in degraded mode (critical alerts only) until renewal

Your options at that point:

  • Wait for renewal on the 1st (free)
  • Move up a plan (prorated to month end, then standard rate)
  • Buy a top-up credit pack: €49, €129, €299 or €499 — no plan change, valid until consumed

No automatic overage billing. You decide.

What consumes a lot vs little#

For reference:

  • Low: smart alerts, data reads, coherence checks, contextual FAQ
  • Medium: full weekly scans, brief generation, standard recommendations
  • High: personalised email generation, complex cross-domain analysis, ad-hoc natural-language queries
