Three learning mechanisms#
Targeted onboarding
When each agent activates, 3–5 precise questions to frame your business context. Not a long generic questionnaire.
Post-action learning
When you reject or change a recommendation, the agent optionally asks why. The reason is encoded in its memory.
Pattern detection
After three rejections of the same type, the agent automatically adjusts its rules for that pattern. You stop rejecting manually.
Concrete examples#
Sales agent: you always reject follow-ups for customer "AB Industries" because it is family-managed off-system. After the third rejection, the agent excludes that customer from recommendations without asking again.
Inventory agent: you repeatedly correct its min/max recommendations on "Summer season" items in June because you know a large supplier delivery is coming. The agent learns your exception and surfaces it as context next time.
Data Quality agent: a check flags "supplier without IBAN" for contractors paid in cash (legitimate in some activities). After you explicitly disable it, the check is suspended for those suppliers.
Your guarantees#
- Full isolation: your tenant's memory is never shared with another customer. No "global model" learning from all users
- No LLM training on your data: memory feeds prompt context, not model training
- Visibility and control: review what each agent has learned in the "Memory" tab of its interface
- Reset on demand: purge an agent's memory in one click. It starts fresh with no loss of operational data
The long-term effect#
A virtuous circle: the more you use UpBoard, the more agents fit your business, the less time you spend validating, the better decisions you make without thinking through every exception.
It also becomes progressively harder to go back: a six-month-old UpBoard agent is not the same value as a brand-new agent elsewhere.
