AI Agent Manufacturing

AI Agent Manufacturing, Runs that hold: dated component shortages, delays and bill-of-materials reliability (Antoine)

5 specialized analyses review your Odoo data, automatically or on request, and recommend concrete actions.

Without UpBoard, you lose time and money

Shortage discovered when the run starts

The order is confirmed, the date is promised to the customer, and the missing component surfaces the day the shop floor opens the file. By then it is too late to restock without slipping.

Component needs estimated instead of read

A stock tool projects average consumption. An assembler consumes in bursts, when a run launches. The average sees neither the spike nor the date.

Bills of materials silently stale

A bill of materials can be two years old with nothing to flag it: unlike an invoice, nobody complains when it drifts from what is actually assembled.

Launched runs nobody tracks

An order moved to in-progress three weeks ago and 12% produced is a shop-floor problem. Without a reading, it only surfaces on the missed delivery date.

AI Agent Manufacturing, everything changes

Component coverage

Bills of materials of confirmed orders exploded, dated shortage per component

Runs at risk

Orders late or blocked by a component, read from the delivery date

Work in progress

Real progress of launched runs, orders open for too long

On-time delivery

Share of finished runs that held their promised date, over the last six months

Bill-of-materials reliability

Coverage of open orders by a BOM: the prerequisite to any shortage claim

Typical scenarios

Dated component shortage

Before

The component need surfaces when the manufacturing file is opened, too late to restock.

After

Antoine explodes the bills of materials of confirmed orders, works out the net need (on hand and incoming included) and returns the missing component with its quantity and the run it blocks.

One alert per component, not a total

Runs at risk, read from delivery

Before

Delays are noticed on the promised date, when the customer calls.

After

Antoine lists orders late or threatened by a shortage, from the director's point of view: which run slips, because of what, for how much.

Runs at risk with their cause

Bill-of-materials reliability checked first

Before

A tool announces shortages computed on stale bills of materials: precisely wrong, worse than no alert.

After

Antoine measures how much of the open orders a bill of materials covers. When coverage is too low, he says so and stops instead of concluding.

Mandatory upfront check

On-time delivery over six months

Before

A run forecast is believed or not depending on the mood of the day.

After

Antoine computes the share of finished runs that held their promised date over the last six months, which sets how much weight the next forecast deserves.

FAQ, Agent Manufacturing

Who is Antoine?▾

Antoine is UpBoard.ai's Manufacturing agent. He reads your Odoo Manufacturing module read-only (manufacturing orders, bills of materials, components, work in progress) and answers on component coverage, dated shortages, runs at risk, shop-floor progress and on-time delivery.

How is this different from the Stock agent?▾

Sophie, the Stock agent, estimates a need by projecting consumption history. Antoine reads a need already written down: the one a confirmed order's bill of materials imposes, on a date. For an assembler, consumption arrives in bursts when a run launches, and the average does not see it. The two agents talk to each other: a question about an estimated need goes to Sophie.

What if my bills of materials are out of date?▾

That is the first check Antoine runs, before any claim. He measures the share of open orders covered by a bill of materials; if it is insufficient, he raises a single alert on data reliability and concludes nothing about shortages. Twelve alerts built on stale bills of materials would be precisely wrong.

Can Antoine launch or change a manufacturing order?▾

No. Antoine works read-only: he confirms, launches and modifies no order. Every write to Odoo goes through your explicit validation (human-in-the-loop), and the automatic scan cannot write anything by design.

Which Odoo modules are required?▾

The Manufacturing (MRP) module is required. Without it, UpBoard simply shows the Manufacturing domain as not monitored, with no alert and no health grade: a retail shop has no business reading that its production data is unreliable.
